Words of Yogananda and Kriyananda

This mini-blog is just to record short quotes of Yogananda and Kriyananda in a less formal manner than the ananda.org web site or even the blog A Place Called Ananda. For more in depth information click on one of these links I just mentioned.
Mon Dec 14
Dec. 15. Love others as aspects of your own Self. Every individual specializes—on behalf of the whole race—in being himself. Each is evolving a specific expression of potentials that are universal to all. Swami Kriyananda writing as J Donald Walters in hs new, soon to be published book “Do It Well”
Dec. 14. Think vastness! Think eternity! Don’t limit yourself to present realities whether in space or in time. Your very thoughts are but waves on the vast ocean of consciousness. Swami Kriyananda writing as J Donald Walters in hs new, soon to be published book “Do It Well”
Sat Dec 12
Dec. 13. A true friend is one you can weep with, not one with whom you can only laugh. Be such a friend to others. Let them feel your care for them in their sorrows. Weep with them, sometimes—but not in such a way as to increase their woe: only to wean them from it. Never weep, however, for yourself. Swami Kriyananda writing as J Donald Walters in hs new, soon to be published book “Do It Well”
Dec. 12. Attachment, like an unripe fruit, clings to its branch even when buffeted by high winds. Be instead like a ripened fruit, which releases its hold instantly when blown upon by even a light wind of threatened suffering. Swami Kriyananda writing as J Donald Walters in hs new, soon to be published book “Do It Well”
Fri Dec 11
Thu Dec 10
Wed Dec 9
Dec. 11. Include the success of others in your quest for personal success. Better a stream that makes a whole valley green than an oasis, surrounded by vast stretches of sand. Swami Kriyananda writing as J Donald Walters in hs new, soon to be published book “Do It Well”
Dec. 10. If you want to improve your circumstances, work first on improving yourself. To want others to treat you better is to enslave yourself to them. Become in everything a cause, not an effect. Self-dependence is independence, and is the mark of heroism. Swami Kriyananda writing as J Donald Walters in hs new, soon to be published book “Do It Well”
Tue Dec 8
Dec. 9. To attract abundance, see money as a flow of energy, not as a static quantity. See life itself also as a flow, not as a fixed pattern. A drinking glass can hold only so much liquid; even so, your little brain can hold only so many thoughts. Leave your ego on the bank, and enter the flowing river of cosmic awareness. There is no limit to how much of life’s abundance—not only money, but abundance of all kinds—can be yours, if you will offer yourself into its eternal flow. Swami Kriyananda writing as J Donald Walters in hs new, soon to be published book “Do It Well”
