Sept. 9. Remain always “even-minded and cheerful,” as my Guru put it. Watch a cork bobbing on the waves of a lake: up and down, up and down, never straying off in any other direction; almost all its movement is up and down in the same place. Don’t bob similarly on waves of emotion. You’ll never get anywhere so long as you spend your time reacting to extraneous events in your life. Be an initiator. Move serenely through life’s waters, ever centered in your spine. Swami Kriyananda writing as J Donald Walters in hs new, soon to be published book “Do It Well”
