Sept. 17. When troubles beset you, seek both cause and solution at their true source in yourself. Karmic law rules supreme in the universe. Your every act in the past represented movement away from your motionless center in the Self. That movement will forever demand the compensation of equal movement in the opposite direction. Though hindered by what my Guru called “the thwarting cross-currents of ego,” the law must, sooner or later, be fulfilled. These back-and-forth movements never proceed in a straight line. Rather, they create eddies which draw into their vortex the debris of countless desires and involvements. Don’t trouble yourself with the complexity of life, but seek ever the divine simplicity of oneness with God’s joy. To do otherwise is to court unending further troubles.
