Sept. 24. Don’t be a climber outwardly, whether socially or in any other way. Even in the ashrams of saints I have seen people play that game. Absorb whatever virtues attract you in others, but never try to impress anybody. Move through social groups like a ship sailing serenely through heavy waves. Be complete in yourself until you see some quality you’d like to take on as a “passenger.” Divine illumination will carry you finally beyond all human, egoic qualities.
